Oh, la, la, dear birds, it was cold out today! A soujourn outside to take some winter sun photographs was brrr-isk! That arctic wind can do a number on you... and make for some wiggly subjects, like this fluff of a goldenrod that was dancing around.
But a well-bundled foray into the woods is still a lovely way to spend some time. One of the best things about going out into the cold and adventuring in snowy nature is knowing that at the end, you have a cozy, warm home to go back to, and a kettle for tea or maybe some hot cocoa - with peppermint schnapps, if you're feeling really indulgent!
Mmm... that does sound good...
Have you noticed the daylight lingering for longer? It is happening, for sure - there are just a few minutes more before evening's cloak spreads over us each night. I always try to make it a point to pay attention to this shifting. It helps me keep in touch with the Earth's rhythm, being aware that things are indeed moving and changing.
If winter is a challenge for you, if it feels like being stuck in endless cold and dark, take that returning light as a buoy for your spirit. Take heart. The light does return, dear birds, it is returning every day.
With love from,
The Tidy Thyme Crew
